Based on this first full trailer for Frank Miler’s adaptation of Will Eisner’ classic The Spirit, you might be forgiven for thinking that you were stumbling into a convention for all the people that made classic Bond credit sequences.
Because it’s so full of the ladies of the film, with our hero (Gabriel Macht) and his nemesis, The Octopus (Samuel L Jackson) largely sidelined, you start to wonder just whether should be called Lots Of Good Looking Ladies And A Bloke In A Suit To Boot. But it’s definitely Sin City stylish and in parts looks amazing. Check out the leaked version here.

"MEEOOWWW!!!! KITCH!! KITCH!!"
Last fall, it seemed like the Bourne series was sunk Paul-greengrass-bounces-bourne-4″>when Paul Greengrass pulled a bitchfit and removed himself and star Matt Damon from a fourth Bourne film. That doesn’t seem to bother Universal too much. Despite the fact that he directed Duplicity, they’ve just hired Tony Gilroy to direct the next chapter. Gilroy, of course, wrote each of the previous films as well as the newest script. Not sure if they plan to use Damon, recast, shoot a prequel, or go the tried-and-true route of using a cardboard cut-out. You really can’t tell the difference if you shake the camera around enough. (Deadline)
In what sounds like the seeds of a hardcore Girl, Interrupted, Kate Bosworth has signed on to star in the adaptation of Paulo Coelho’s novel Veronika Decides To Die.
Emily Young is directing the movie, which sees the title character (Bosworth) institutionalised after a suicide attempt. But once there, she discovers that she has a weakened heart and needs treatment or she really will die in days. The plot follows her trip back to health and how it gives her the will to live again. Sorry if that’s spoiled anything for anyone.
With a script by Larry Gross and Roberta Hanley, Young will start shooting later in the year in New York.
Fox really wants you to go and see Wolverine. Director Gavin Hood has announced that the studio has inserted several hidden endings into different prints of the film and different theatres will be showing different versions. It’s a move similar to Marvel’s Iron Man Samuel L Jackson cameo, which was absent from the preview versions of the flick. But on a much larger scale. We know that one ending features Deadpool, but reports are so far unconfirmed that Odeon cinemas will feature a bit where Wolverine eviscerates the Pirate Bay four, confusing them for whoever it was that leaked his movie.[Source: Firstshowing]Will you go and see Wolverine?
